Hello Gents,
"If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down but the staying down." - Mary Pickford
Give them a chance! The Springboks have had a pretty poor year so far, but before the start of this season they had one of their most successful runs ever.
Many supporters are getting panicky with less than a year left to the next Rugby World Cup being hosted in New Zealand and are baying for Pieter de Villiers to be canned. But it's a well known fact SA supporters have very short memories...
Considering the coach and team's fantastic performances in recent years, would it not be fairer to give them a little more time to get their house in order? After all, the recent defeats have certainly been far less embarrassing than those at the beginning of the Tri-Nations tour, so does this not prove they've already made some encouraging improvements?
I hope SARU (South African Rugby Union) make some sensible decisions later this month as they conduct their annual review of the Springbok coach and team's recent performances.
More than that, I hope the Springboks can find their world-beating form again - soon!
Cheers
Gerrohn Michalitsianos
