Sci-Fi Thriller: Limitless (2011)

Imagine you could simply swallow a pill, suddenly reach your full potential and live a life where everything is limitless. The film is adapted from a novel called The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn, and has Eddie the protagonist (Cooper) sharing all his thoughts with the viewer through articulate narration. The film depicts the world through Eddie’s drug enhanced mind very cleverly. For fans of fast-paced, adrenaline pumped action and fight scenes, this movie is ideal with moments that will have you clinging on for dear life.

Synopsis
Eddie Morra (Cooper) is an aspiring author, who has what it takes, including a book contract, but is crippled by an ongoing writer’s block. He is pretty much down on his luck, physically and emotionally, until an old friend gets him to try NZT, a revolutionary top-secret pharmaceutical drug that clears his mind and, combined with his already high intelligence, it causes him to reach his full potential, but sadly only while he’s high on the drug. His whole world is changed for the better as he ups his daily dose of NZT and takes on Wall Street, rapidly climbing to the top and teaming up with mega-mogul Carl Van Loon (De Niro). However, things go wrong when side-effects begin to kick in and he is chased by bad guys who are after his blood and want to get their hands on the drug themselves.
