Underdogs Reign Supreme

The Metropolitan Premier Cup has usually been dominated by the PSL academies in recent years, with likes of Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns and Supersport United winning the tournament in the last few years. The last non PSL team to win this tournament was Bright Stars in 2007 and since then it has been dominated by PSL academies.

All systems are go for EFC AFRICA 13 at the GrandWest Grand Arena tomorrow night! All 26 athletes made weight at the GrandWest Market Hall on 12 April amid intense stare-downs. Cape Town’s first EFC AFRICA weigh-in attracted a large crowd of animated fight fans. Cheers for Cape Town’s local favourites and popular out-of-towners filled the hall as MMA athletes took the stage for the public weigh-in.

There is something about a good fight that just gets the heart pumping! We are built to be warriors at heart, but lets be honest, we need to preserve ourselves as well. So where do we go to release the warriors within us, we go and watch a rugby match or a boxing match, but nothing compares to a real fight to the end!  Bring on EFC Africa 13!!! The EFC is bringing the fight to Cape Town, so if there are any warriors out there that wants to see what fighting is all about, then we have good news!!

Bagattin hunts redemption at EFC AFRICA 13

Popular Johannesburg fighter Dino Bagattin rushes straight back into the EFC AFRICA hexagon to avenge his recent loss at EFC AFRICA 12. Despite an excellent first round for the East Rand Muay Thai specialist, the grappling prowess of his opponent, Michiel Opperman, derailed his hopes of victory at 2:37 into round two.
